How much capital do I need to get started trading?

This depends on where you are going to trade. If you are going to trade at a proprietary trading firm most companies will want a deposit of $5,000. If you are going to trade with a firm like Charles Schwab or Etrade, you will need at least $25,000. (see the chapter on software and trading firms)
